Testimonial (December 2014):

“Grace–I wanted you to know how much I got out of the mindfulness class you so skillfully facilitated this Fall.  One of my biggest learnings is how entangled I am in my own story.  I am now catching  myself when I start down this path ( too often!), remembering these stories are just thoughts.

A class bonus was the setting — your lovely home.  I am one who is impacted by the space in which I reside and I relaxed the moment I entered your home.  In my mind’s eye, I see the trees and clinging leaf from your LR window.

Know that this was one of my most important experience in 2014.  I am grateful for your kindness and generosity.”

REIKI with Luan Jacobs and Yael Flusberg

Reiki is a practice of healing touch using stillness and connection to the flow of life energy. It is taught in both individual and group experience at the GW Center for Integrative Medicine. You may decide which type of learning experience is best for you.

Reiki Level One or First Degree

Reiki Level One Training  May 26th and June 16th  with Luann Jacobs and Yael Flusberg

more information here

Cost: $150
To register, send an email to or call 202-833-5055

Reiki Level One is composed of two parts, learning Reiki for Self Care and leaning Reiki Treatment of Others. Reiki for Self Care is often best learned individually by registering as a patient at the GW CIM and receiving three individual sessions. You will receive a full body Reiki treatment, receive Reiki energy connection (called Reiju), receive instruction in the self care positions with Reiki, receive a manual for study and review, be asked to do 21 days of self care while journaling about that experience and return for a follow up third session which can be either receiving another full body Reiki treatment or learning to give Reiki to a friend or companion.

Cost is $300.00 for three sessions.

Group Classes (on a Saturday from 10am to 5pm) are offered several times a year and are co-taught with Yael Flusberg, Reiki Master and Yoga Therapist.

Cost is $150.00. Certificate is awarded when class is completed and journal of self-care submitted.

Reiki Level Two or Second Degree

Reiki Level Two is a deepening of the understanding of hands-on Reiki (local) through a transcendence of time and space. You will learn three Reiki symbols for use in distant (non-local) healing, receive Reiki energy connection (called Reiju), receive a workbook and explore exercises to expand your knowledge and practice of Reiki both local and non-local. It is suggested you have practiced Reiki Level One for three months before joining this class.

Group classes are offered several times a year in a series of three meetings, and are co-taught with Yael Flusberg, Reiki Master and Yoga Therapist.

Cost is $150.00. Certificate is awarded when class is completed and journal of 10 sendings is submitted.

Next class:

Next Reiki Level Two (Chuden) Training:

September 8 and 15, 2017. 6:30-9:00pm

First evening of training:  September 8

You’ll receive an attunement, learn about the three sacred Reiki symbols and their deeper meanings and uses, and practice bringing them into your energy blueprint using visual and movement arts. You’ll also experience hands-on application of advanced Reiki techniques on yourself and others. Homework: 21 days of self-care, using some of our suggestions for how to incorporate the symbols in your daily life.

Second evening of training:  September 15

We’ll focus on distant healing practices, and how to create your own personal sending protocol. You’ll receive a second attunement and learn how to apply this level of work to your own spiritual development.

Certificate Presentation:  Upon completion of both classes and ten documented sessions on others.

Advanced Training

Candidates for Reiki Master, Master Teacher, and Reiki Fellowship are accepted through an interview process with Luann.
