Conditions of the back and spine, particularly pain, have as many causes as the people experiencing them. Discomfort and immobility can be the result of an injury, a congenital abnormality, underlying illness, or even emotional distress that manifests itself as relentless aches and pains. Just a few of the conditions treated in the Back and Spine program include:
- Back and neck pain
- Chronic tendinitis and bursitis
- Frozen shoulder
- Carpal tunnel syndrome and other repetitive motion injuries
At the Center for Integrative Medicine we treat back and spine problems in the context of the whole person. Many patients may have already pursued treatment with orthopedics, neurology or other specialties without relief. At the Center, the Back and Spine Case Manager will learn more about previous treatments and about the patient’s perception of his condition. Recommendations will then be made for an integrative care plan that combines complementary modalities aimed at relieving painful symptoms while addressing their underlying causes.
