Chinese Herbal Medicine
Tiffany C. Hoyt is an acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist. She holds a Master’s degree in Acupuncture from the Maryland University of Integrated Health, is an NCCAOM Board certified Diplomat of acupuncture and herbal medicine, and holds certificates in Toyohari—painless, non-insertion Japanese acupuncture, as well as Reiki and SoTai body therapies. She earned a black belt from the Hung Tao Choy Mei Kung Fu Academy. In her practice she emphasizes healing through the eight traditional branches of Chinese medicine: acupuncture, moxibustion, herbal medicine, exercise, meditation, dietary therapy, bodywork, and feng shui.
Currently Tiffany is a doctoral candidate at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a specialty in gynecology. She is a board member of the Toyohari Association of North America (TANA) and lectures on Chinese medicine in everyday life. Her training and experience has convinced her that healthy habits and living with passionate interest is the single best way to extend longevity and compress morbidity.
Tiffany is thrilled to be working at the Center for Integrative Medicine. “I believe the work we are doing here represents the best combination of integrated health systems. I am impressed by the commitment of my fellow clinicians; they are not only some of the best practitioners in their fields, each of them is willing to spend the time to insure their patients’ improved health,” she says.
“I have been getting occasional migraines since I was very young and recently they have gotten much more frequent. When I started seeing Tiffany, I had tried many Western medicine paths that were not working for me, and was feeling desperate for a solution. After our first visit, for the first time in a long time, I felt there may be a possible end to my migraine trouble. The treatments I get from her are always different, fine-tuned to address what we talk about before each. Regardless of what she does, I always leave feeling recharged and like my nervous energy has become focused, allowing me to deal with the world in an effective and positive way. With her guidance and herb prescriptions my migraines have decreased to about one or two a month, my skin is as clear as it’s ever been and I feel calm and hopeful. And I can’t remember the last time I came down with a cold! Tiffany is an amazing listener and she gives her whole self during our sessions. I am grateful for her role in my life.”
